NEWCOMB, AL - Of Spring Arbor, passed away May 20, 2011 after a brief illness, age 66. He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Newcomb (husband Travis Brenden) of Webberville, MI and Karen Newcomb (friend Rocky Every) of Spring Arbor; granddaughter, Isabella Brenden; sister, Martha (Ezra) Locklear of North Carolina; brother, Ron (C herry) Moore of Jackson; and good friend, Beverly Walker of Jackson. He is preceded in death by his dear wife, Sandra to whom he was married for 34 years; his mother, Edith (Cummings, Newcomb, Moore) Johnson; and his brother, Merv Newcomb. Al served 32 years as a police officer and Chief of Police for Spring Arbo r Township and 35 years as a volunteer fireman and Safety Director. A memorial service will be at Parma United Methodist Church Tuesday 11:00 a.m. the Reverend Melodye Surgeon-Rider officiating.
