Birth
</b>The first white man to settle north of the Salmon River in Richmond Township was Joseph Prindle Sr., who with his wife took up land on the north bank about midway between what would become the villages of Roblin and Forest Mills.
Their son, Joseph Prindle Jr, was the first white child born north of the Salmon River. [1]
Joseph Jr was baptised January 12, 1789 by Rev. John Langhorn in the Township of Fredricksburgh, being the Third Township of Catarawkwee, which was then called Kingston in the Province of Quebec. The Reverend noted the event in his register: "Jo seph, son of Joseph and Mary Prindel. Fredericksburgh, Jan. 12"[2]
