SPEARS, Wesley B. – of Grand Blanc, MI, age 97, went to be with his Lord Monday, July 16, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, July 20, 2018 at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd. Burton, MI 48519; Rev. San g Yoon Chun officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, in Mt. Morris Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Friday, July 20, 2018 a t Atherton United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Atherton United Methodist Church or the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in Wesley’s memory. Wesley was born in Flint, MI on January 20, 1921, son of the late Marvin and Clara (Lamphear) Spears. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Stanton on December 18, 1945 in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2011. Wesley proudly ser ved his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-1945. He was an active member of Atherton United Methodist Church. Wesley retired from General Motors in 1975 after 35 years of service. He was an active member of Atherton United Method ist and UAW Local #651. Wesley enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Wesley is survived by 3 children, Linda (Robert) Dutro of Flint, MI, Marvin Spears of Murfreesboro, TN and James (Nancy) Spears of Grand Rapids, MI; 4 grandchildren, Martin Spears, Megan (Brent) Warren, Valerie (Juan) Camargo and Erin (Travis) A tkinson; 9 great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Samantha Camargo, Benjamin, Madelyn and Meredith Warren, Elizabeth, Grace and Marie Atkinson and Mason Spears; many other loving family members and friends.
