A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd., Burton; Rev. Gregory Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Atherton United Methodist Church or the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Elizabeth was born in Detroit, MI on February 14, 1923, daughter of the late Oliver R. and Anna C. (Lemm) Stanton. She married Wesley B. Spears on December 18, 1945 in Flint, MI. Elizabeth was a member of Atherton United Methodist Church since 1952, where she was very active in the church. She was a member of Church Women United. Elizabeth earned her Registered Nurse certification from Grace Hospital in Detroit and worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 16 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping. Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Wesley; children, Linda and Robert Dutro of Flint, Marvin Spears of Murfreesboro, TN, James and Nancy Spears of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Martin Spears and Misty Bach, Megan and Brent Warren, Valerie and Juan Camargo, Erin and Travis Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Samantha Camargo, Benjamin and Madelyn Warren, Elizabeth Atkinson, Mason Spears.
