She is the mother of Clayton, Elmer, John, Fred, and Charles Underhill and Mrs. John Taylor. Mrs. Arthur Cross, Mrs. Jessie Carslate, Mrs. Ella Berry and Mrs. Blanche Gickgraf. The remains will be brought to this place and funeral services will be held from Pine Run Church this (Friday) after noon, at 2:00 o'clock. Birth: Mar. 1, 1845 Ashtabula County Ohio, USA Death: May 14, 1918 Grand Rapids Kent County Michigan, USA Daughter of William Tinker and Sarah Green. She married William H. Underhill. "The Grand Rapids Press" 16 May 1918 Widow Of Former Local Pastor Dies Mrs. Ellen L. Underhill, widow of Rev. W.H. Underhill, died Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.B. Cross, 537 Norwood-av. Mr. Underhill was the first pastor of East Congregational church and was the leader in the movement that gav e the society its first church home which was incorporated in the structure as it stands today. Mrs. Underhill is survived by five daughters and five sons: Mrs. Cross, Mrs. Blanch Zichgraf of Jellico, Tenn., Mrs. Ella Berry of Gaylord, Mich., Mrs. Ada Taylor of Clio, Mich., Mrs. Jessie Karslake of Vanderbilt, Mich., John and Charles Underh ill of Flint and Elmer, Fred and Clayton Underhill of Clio.
