Monday, 22 December 1952 The Titusville Herald Page 5, Column 3 George W. Stevenson, 87, died at 11:55 a.m. yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harold Schwartz, 309 Breed St., following a two-week illness. He was born Aug 23, 1865 in Cherrytree, a son of Thomas and Ellen Stevenson. On Sept. 19, 1883, he was married at the German Reform Church in Titusville to Hattie Mae Rathburn, who died Aug. 29, 1951. During the early part of his life he followed the oil business. A tool dresser by trade, he was later employed at the American Radiator Works and Struthers Wells Corp. A resident of Titusville since his marriage, he had retired 20 years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Schwartz, and Mrs. Ernest Gray, Titusville; Mrs. Henry G. McMaster, Fullerton, Calif; one granddaughter, Mrs. Phillip Lippiatt, and one great-granddaughter, Ellen Louis Lippiatt, both of Fullerton, Calif. ; two brothers, Edward Stevenson, West Hickory; John Stevenson, Sugar Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Two sons preceded him in death, Chester A. Stevenson in 1938 and Henry O. Stevenson in 1951. Friends may call at any time at the E. A. Peterson funeral home where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Jack Price, first reader of the First Church Christ Scientist, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
