Note The Hickok Genealogy: Descendants of William Hickoks of Farmington, Connecticut: With Ancestry of Charles Nelson Hickok. (Rutland, Vt.: The Tuttle Publishing Company, 1938). pg 5 First Generation 1. WILLIAM HICKOCKS, was one of the original settlers of Farmington, Conn.; purchased home lot, and died soon after 1645; he married Elizabeth, who died 3 August 1655; she married (2) William Adams, died 18 July 1655, who came to Hartford from Massachusetts, in 1648, removed to Farmington and died in 1653. Her children by Adams were: Benjamin born about 1649, and Elizabeth born about 1652. When the inventory of the Adams Estate 1 was taken, 6 September 1655, the two Adams children were listed together with Samuel Heacock age 12, and Joseph Heacock age 10. CHILDREN OF WILLIAM AND ELIZABETH HICKOCKS: + 2. SAMUEL HICKOCK, b. abt. 1643; d. 1695; mar. Hannah Upson. + 3. JOSEPH HICKOCK, b. abt. 1645; d. 1687; mar. Mary Car- penter. WILL of Addams, William, Farmington; Inventory £ 36:03:00, taken 6 September 1655, by Stephen Hart, Thomas Newell, Thomas Judd and John Hart. The children: Benjamin age 6 years; Elizabeth 3 years;Samuel Heacock 12 and Joseph Heacock 10 years of age. This Court desired Mr. Steele and Thomas Judd to preserve the estate and to place out ye children as well as they can and make return to ye court in May next.
